Gamera Gamera 3: Awakening of Iris
When the Gyaos return to Japan in greater numbers, Gamera returns to fight them, causing great destruction in the cities they attack. The military consider Gamera a threat, and turn thier forces against him. Ayana, a girl who believes her parents were killed by Gamera, forms a telepathic relationship with a tentacled creature that hatches from an egg. The creature, Iris, shares her hatred for Gamera, and grows to enormous size. Iris seeks out Gamera, and the two have a huge battle, which reaches its climax in the Kyoto train station. Gamera is barely able to defeat Iris, and loses his hand in the fight. As hundreds of Gyaos descend on Japan, Gamera continues the fight, this time with the support of the military.
